Mythology and origins
Ashlesha is ruled by the Nagas, the serpent deities. In Indian myth, Nagas guard treasures under the earth and beneath the waters and hold both wisdom and venom.
It lies at the end of Cancer, near the head of Hydra. The name means "the entwiner" or "the embrace," and its symbol is a coiled serpent.
