Mrigashira is ruled by Soma, the Moon god and the nectar of immortality. In one tradition, the creator Prajapati chased his daughter in the form of a stag, Rudra shot him with an arrow, and the stag’s head remained in the sky as this star.
It spans the end of Taurus to the start of Gemini, near the head of Orion. Its symbol is a deer’s head — cautiously looking around, searching for something.
